Hi! My name is Regina Souli, and I am a Graphic Designer with 11 years of experience.

Describe your profession to a 6-year-old child.

I design ideas using forms, letters and images to represent other people’s jobs.

“I need your service.”

What is the one thing they don’t ask but you would like them to?

“What is really your profession about?”

What is the biggest misconception you/others have had about your profession?

That I am an artist.

What is the one thing you are most proud of about your job?

I help people build successful businesses and improve the image of the place where I live and work.

Name the three things that require most of your attention each week.

Communication with clients and collaborators, design, studio management.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be successful in your profession?

To take the job seriously, to know the subject and keep up to date, and to be honest with the clients and themselves.

What are the key leadership skills required to do your job well?

Be strategic, communicate clearly, listen actively, manage time and priorities, think critically.
These skills are important to be a designer and run a successful design studio.

If you think of successful leaders in your space, what are their leadership qualities you admire?

Courage, creativity, decisiveness, flexibility, willingness to learn.

How would you like your profession to look in 10 years?

I would like to be more established to the world about its necessity, the industry to be consisted by professionals, and to co-exist in balance with artificial intelligence.

Describe how your job can contribute to making the world a better place.

As graphic designer Michael Bierut said: “Designers actually can change the world for the better by making the complicated simple and finding beauty in truth.”

I am a multidisciplinary designer with a background in graphic design and exhibition studies of contemporary art.

I run a graphic design studio in Zakynthos, Greece. The studio works on commissioned projects for clients based locally and internationally, from cultural and corporate sectors. I design for both print and digital media, such as visual identities, publications (look books, brand manuals, brochures), books, packaging, and websites.

Over the past 10 years, I have worked in London and Athens as a creative director, co-founder, and founder of two design studios. My work has been recognized in national and international design competitions and has been published in selected local and international magazines and design blogs. Last year I received the silver award in the European Design Awards 2022 for the paper catalogue Natural.

Academically, I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the University of West Attica, Athens Greece, a Master of Arts in Graphic Design from the London College of Communication in London, UK, and a Master of Research in Exhibition Studies from Central Saint Martins, also in London, UK.
